We are very pleased to announce that our lovely actor NIGEL OSNER will be reading at the SHAW THEATRE in London on Saturday, 11th August 2012, as part of THE GREAT TALWIN cast, performing a rehearsed reading of Four Scenes from William Burrough's Life. Nigel will be reading the part of the American writer Terry Southern.
The event is part of THEATRELAB SCRATCH series of events at Shaw Theatre, in preparation for future productions.
Mexico City, 1951, in a precinct; Burroughs just shot his wife dead while playing William Tell.
The Burroughs’ draw scorpions while chatting; Manolito is a handsome guy with a beautiful name, William’s got good stories about the insects of Chicago.
In Tangiers, in 1953, all mirrors are magical, the guys are dangerous, and the expats vicious.
New York, 1979: Burroughs and friends talk about Tangiers, Céline’s dogs, London, Copenhagen and Chicago, Hitler, Stalin and Beckett, the Grey Gentlemen Order, the yage, a Mexican policemen, a lesbian bar named “Hit-Hat”, the aplomb of British policemen.
